Decrease Carbon Footprint!!

One thing that i learned about the oil is that we depend too much on oil and we dont even know that, oil is really important in our lifes. Its part of our life and we use oil on everything we have and people dont know that. For example they dont know that electricity has oil and ALL the people use electricity too much to watch TV, talk on the phone, use the computer, or use any other electronic that uses electricity. I think that some changes as a communnity that we need to made to start to break our oil dependence is to use less things that have oil for example electricity, sopa, shampoo, toothpaste tubes, lotion, spray, make-up, and many other. What I could do to decrease my carbon footprint is walk to school and walk to other places that are not far and only tell my dad to take me to places when its far. Also when im not using the computer or watching TV unplug them so I wont waste a lot of light/electricity. One thing that Im already doing is recycle cans, my dad has bags were we put the cans to recycle them. I think that one way to motivate other people to do the same is by informing them about this oil crisis and all the effects that it has. Also by letting them know that most things have oil and how we really depend on oil and we have to decrease our carbon footprint.

R.I.P. =(

Today I woke up happy and I never expect to hear and see bad news on the TV. I turn on the t.v and walk to the kitchen to make me a coffee. While I was making it I heard that the news reporter said that there was a big explosion of oil on the Gulf of Mexico. I got scare because my uncle works near there and I didn’t knew if he was ok or not. I kept on watching the news to see if they were going to give more information about the oil explosion. They didn’t knew really well how many persons died they only say that they assume that like about 12 persons died, but they didn’t know the names of the persons, they were still figuring out. I call my family to ask if they knew something about my uncle and they say that they didn’t knew nothing and that they were going to ask for information about all the workers that survive. My family and I finally got information about the explosion and about the victims that die they said that Jose Alvarez was one of the victims who didn’t survive. I couldn’t believe that he was dead and that I wasn’t going to see him never again. Hearing these made me sad n cry, I didn’t want to accept that he was dead because I was really close to him. The worst thing for me and my family was that we cannot properly grieve him because we don’t know where exactly his body was. We cant even go and put flowers and pray to him. These really affected us and I know that these is going to take a long time for me to get better and keep going with my life. =(

LiViNg WiThOuT OiL!!!

Today I was watching the news and the reporter said that people really depends on oil. I know that all people really depends on oil because oil is use for many things and people really need it, especially the ones that have a car and the businesses or government service like the UPS, airlines, public storage, and FedEx. These pass days have been bad for most people because they are losing there jobs and most of them have to depend on others family member’s. Now I limit myself to waste less money on my wants and more on the things I really need and are necessary for me to survive. My neighbor lost her job and now her mom and family and her helping her but she is looking for a job. I mostly get from one place to another in my dads car, he take me to school in the morning and then when I have to go somewhere far or almost near to my house he takes me, he uses oil for the car so we can get from one place to another as well as all the people that have a car or work in a business that have to go from one place to another using oil. I think that elasticity plays a role in this economic crisis because if the price of the gas/oil changes then the consumers will respond to the given change in the price but they would not stop buying it because if they own a car they wouldn’t want to go to a place walking so it will impact the people but they would still pay for it.
